The ClariSea fleece filter is a high-efficiency water filtration system which effectively removes suspended particles such as microalgae, detritus, food, organic waste and gravel dust from the water column. Suitable for use in marine aquariums, freshwater aquariums, fish-breeding systems and propagation systems for corals.
Designed to be mounted in a sump, but can be installed in multiple different ways; the Clarisea fleece filters completely replace the need for filter socks and fine sponge filtration to make your aquarium water crystal clear! Clearer water increases light penetration providing even more light for coral or plant growth. As water flows through the fleece all but the finest detritus and organic waste will be removed which greatly decreases the likelihood of it breaking down into nitrate and phosphate in the aquarium, keeping water parameters level for longer.
The ClariSea filters also greatly reduce the load on your protein skimmer. The constant filtration of even the smallest particles results in reduced maintenance of skimmers, pumps, wave makers etc. Many fishkeepers have noted a distinct reduction in the detritus in aquarium substrate and sump.
The smart controller has an end-of-roll audible alarm to alert you to changing it. A Filter jam/float error/water depth alarm is also included. There is also a handy water bypass system and fail-safe overflow.
The ClariSea filters are easy to position in the aquarium sump, and can be mounted in numerous different ways: Hung on the back, front or side of most sumps. They can free-stand within the sump itself with a water level below 200mm, in deeper sumps they will need to be placed on a box or shelf. The fleece can be fed from the front or back, and the water can be fed through from the top, side or at an angle.
A red light on the sensor can indicate one of these things.
The sensor's inbuilt emergency shut-off timer has been activated
When the unit performs its first top-up after being powered on it will store the time taken in its memory. If for any reason the top-up unit is activated for longer than 6 times this the sensor will assume there is a problem or that the freshwater reservoir is empty, shut down and show the red warning light.
Corrective action to set the ATO back into normal operation mode and clear the alarm status, power the unit down from the mains plug socket for a few seconds and then power it back up. The sensor should flash red/blue a few times as it reinitialises and then returns to normal operation mode with a solid blue status light.
The sensor is detecting a fault with the ATO pump.
If the pump cannot run the sensor may go into alarm mode and turn off power to the pump. If this is the situation you will notice that when the top-up activates the pump will not turn on and the status light will immediately show red and not flash blue until time out occurs.
Corrective action:_Disconnect the unit from mains power, check that the connector where the power lead and pump plug-in has not become wet and that the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move.
The freshwater reservoir is empty or the sensor is impaired
No water in the reservoir or microbubbles in the water are causing issues with the sensor detecting the water level. Check that the sensor is not in an area where it is subject to small bubbles, eg near the outlet from a skimmer.
Corrective action: If this has occurred check that the sensor is clean, the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move, the freshwater reservoir is not empty, and there is nothing that could be causing the sump water level to fall unexpectedly.
