Your Fluval EDGE aquarium and LED light are guaranteed for defective parts and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. This guarantee is valid with proof of purchase only. The guarantee is limited to repair or replacement only and does not cover consequential loss or damage to animate or inanimate objects. This guarantee is valid provided the aquarium is placed in a suitable location that is flat and level and has been installed in accordance with the installation instructions and care guide. This guarantee excludes aquarium breakage due to misuse, chips, stress cracks caused by improper support or another breakage. This guarantee is valid only under normal operating conditions for which the unit is intended. It excludes any damage caused by unreasonable use, negligence, improper installation, tampering, abuse or commercial use. The warranty does not cover wear and tear or parts which have not been adequately or correctly maintained. Failure of less than 5% of the total number of LEDs shall not be considered a defect under the terms of this warranty. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS

How do I remove algae in my aquarium that may be accumulating on the inside glass surface?

Whether it is visible or not, algae removal needs to be a regular weekly maintenance task. This is performed simply by going over the inner glass surface with a pad or an aquarium magnet, such as the Fluval Razor+ 2-in-1 Algae Magnet available in small or medium.

Can I use this aquarium for saltwater?

You can, but please note that the light included with the aquarium is optimized for freshwater use.

When using a timer for the LED, are the last settings saved after shutting the unit off?

Yes. For example, if the White and Blue LEDs are on and the power supply is interrupted or shut off, the same White and Blue would come back on when the power is restored.

Is it possible to grow live plants in the Edge?

While Fluval already offers a full range of Edge-specific decor pieces, it is possible to grow plants requiring low-medium light levels successfully in this aquarium. Species such as anubias, java fern and some cryptocorynes make ideal choices.

Can I modify the lighting on my Edge aquarium?

We recommend avoiding modifications of any kind as they will void the product warranty.

What fish would you recommend if I don’t want to add a heater?

Small species of Barbs, minnows, and killifish make ideal choices in this case.

What should I do if my pump output is weak?

Ensure that your water level is within the ideal range indicated in your instruction manual, which came with the product packaging or can be viewed on this website by visiting your aquarium product page. Additionally, ensure that the pump has been well cleaned.

Can I keep a Betta fish in this tank due to the limited open surface area?

Yes. Like all fish, bettas have gills and are capable of breathing dissolved oxygen. The surface area exposed on the Edge (under the cover) is sufficient for bettas to take in air if desired.
