H2Ocean Pro+ is a new pro formula aquarium salt - produced by a solar evaporative process which produces a totally natural base salt where all of the main and trace elements are in complete balance as nature intended. The pure natural salt is then specially enhanced for aquarium use by elevating specific elements that over time become depleted, such as calcium and magnesium which are used by corals and coralline algae for growth.CHEMISTRY The formulation for H2Ocean+ salt has been developed by D-D following many months of testing and evaluation. The salt is designed to dissolve quickly and easily and to have a specific chemistry which in our opinion is the optimum formulation to maintain a healthy reef and allow regular water changes whilst maintaining a natural balance.Calcium and Magnesium levels are boosted to replace that used up through coral growth within the aquarium whereas chloride levels are slightly lowered to allow post additions of calcium and magnesium chloride with a minimized affect on the chloride balance.Parameters when mixed to a S.G: of 1.025 @ 25°C = 35.5 ppt Parameters Level Range UnitspH 8.3 8.2-8.4 dKH 9.3 8.7-9.8 Calcium (Ca2+) 440 430-460 mg/lMagnesium (Mg2+) 1340 1300-1380 mg/lChloride (Cl-) 19550 19960-20130 mg/lPotassium (K+) 410 380-420 mg/l RO WATER H2Ocean Pro+ salt is recommended for use with Reverse Osmosis water or soft water with a calcium level lower than 30 mg/l. As the calcium level in H2Ocean+ is already enhanced to 440 mg/l then mixing with hard tap water which contains additional calcium may raise the concentration above normal recommended levels and cause the calcium to precipitate out of solution.RO water removes undesirable ions like phosphate and nitrate from your tap water which otherwise would contribute to nuisance algae in your aquarium.D-D manufactures a range of Reverse Osmosis units which are available from your retailer. MAGNESIUM PRO PLUS FORMULA Many salts concentrate on boosting calcium levels and ignore magnesium levels.Maintenance of the correct magnesium concentration is equally important in a reef aquarium and will make it much easier to maintain stable calcium, pH and alkalinity.
The sensor on the DDATO has different light colours and patterns to warn of faults or show its status.
Flashing blue and red LED. The unit has been powered on and it is going through its startup process.
Flashing blue LED. A low water level has been detected and the top up unit is operating the pump to refill with fresh water.
Short intermitting blinking blue LED. The waterlevel is above the failsafe sensor and the unit has been temporarily deactivated. When the water level returns to below the emergncy sensor the unit will return to normal operation. The failsafe sensor can be activated after each top up on nano aquariums, this is normal and no action needs to be taken.
Solid Blue LED. The top up unit is in normal standby mode.
Flashing red LED. Alarm mode has been activated. The unit has detected an issue and or the freshwater reservoir is empty.
Why is my D+D ATO sensor light red
A red light on the sensor can indicate one of these things.
The sensor's inbuilt emergency shut-off timer has been activated
When the unit performs its first top-up after being powered on it will store the time taken in its memory. If for any reason the top-up unit is activated for longer than 6 times this the sensor will assume there is a problem or that the freshwater reservoir is empty, shut down and show the red warning light.
Corrective action to set the ATO back into normal operation mode and clear the alarm status, power the unit down from the mains plug socket for a few seconds and then power it back up. The sensor should flash red/blue a few times as it reinitialises and then returns to normal operation mode with a solid blue status light.
The sensor is detecting a fault with the ATO pump.
If the pump cannot run the sensor may go into alarm mode and turn off power to the pump. If this is the situation you will notice that when the top-up activates the pump will not turn on and the status light will immediately show red and not flash blue until time out occurs.
Corrective action:_Disconnect the unit from mains power, check that the connector where the power lead and pump plug-in has not become wet and that the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move.
The freshwater reservoir is empty or the sensor is impaired
No water in the reservoir or microbubbles in the water are causing issues with the sensor detecting the water level. Check that the sensor is not in an area where it is subject to small bubbles, eg near the outlet from a skimmer.
Corrective action: If this has occurred check that the sensor is clean, the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move, the freshwater reservoir is not empty, and there is nothing that could be causing the sump water level to fall unexpectedly.
Can it be mounted on suction cups and are there cut outs on the filter case to install these by?
No, the M Bioflow does not have any suction cups to hold the filter to the aquarium. There are no holes on the filter designed to hold such suction clips.
