There is nothing worse than coming down in the morning to finding your favourite fish lying dead and crispy on the carpet. Many fish, especially wrasse, have a tendency to jump from the tank when frightened or chased by another fish and so a solution to preventing the loss of such fish should be high on every fish keepers priority list.D-D Jumpguard covers are a very lightweight, sleek, low visual impact and easy to construct screen cover suitable for most aquarium types, specifically designed to prevent fish loss due to jumping whilst maintaining high light penetration. The Jumpguard Pro Aquarium Cover is a kit of parts which allows the aquarist to create a custom frame for their specific aquarium. The rigid corners and extruded aluminium section create a very solid frame which sits neatly inside glass of the aquarium glass, resting on the top lip. The new Jumpguard Pro now includes cutout and brace bar parts as standard and an aesthetic black mesh. Features of the Jumpguard Pro Aquarium CoverNEW PROFILE DESIGNThe special extruded aluminium profile is now shaped with a lip which sits directly onto the edge of the glass, removing the requirement for any additional clips or brackets. The section is extruded then powder coated in a tough, low sheen, black finish for greater scratch resistance and greater aesthetics.SPECIAL CORNERS INTEGRATE WITH SILICONE JOINTSThe lower section of the corners is specifically designed so that it does not interfere with the silicone bead in the corners of your tank which gives a tight fit to the glass with no gaps. It also makes it easier and neater to cut off the corner if you want to bring wires out at the back of the tank for pumps and heaters.NEW BLACK MESH WITH MAXIMUM LIGHT PENETRATIONFor those concerned with loss of light penetration into your reef tanks, we tested light levels with a Apogee MQ-200 meter and got the following results:PAR without cover around 390 - 400 • PAR with cover around 380 - 390 • Approximately a 2.5% reduction in light with no shadowing at all. The sensor on the DDATO has different light colours and patterns to warn of faults or show its status.
Flashing blue and red LED. The unit has been powered on and it is going through its startup process.
Flashing blue LED. A low water level has been detected and the top up unit is operating the pump to refill with fresh water.
Short intermitting blinking blue LED. The waterlevel is above the failsafe sensor and the unit has been temporarily deactivated. When the water level returns to below the emergncy sensor the unit will return to normal operation. The failsafe sensor can be activated after each top up on nano aquariums, this is normal and no action needs to be taken.
Solid Blue LED. The top up unit is in normal standby mode.
Flashing red LED. Alarm mode has been activated. The unit has detected an issue and or the freshwater reservoir is empty.
Why is my D+D ATO sensor light red
A red light on the sensor can indicate one of these things.
The sensor's inbuilt emergency shut-off timer has been activated
When the unit performs its first top-up after being powered on it will store the time taken in its memory. If for any reason the top-up unit is activated for longer than 6 times this the sensor will assume there is a problem or that the freshwater reservoir is empty, shut down and show the red warning light.
Corrective action to set the ATO back into normal operation mode and clear the alarm status, power the unit down from the mains plug socket for a few seconds and then power it back up. The sensor should flash red/blue a few times as it reinitialises and then returns to normal operation mode with a solid blue status light.
The sensor is detecting a fault with the ATO pump.
If the pump cannot run the sensor may go into alarm mode and turn off power to the pump. If this is the situation you will notice that when the top-up activates the pump will not turn on and the status light will immediately show red and not flash blue until time out occurs.
Corrective action:_Disconnect the unit from mains power, check that the connector where the power lead and pump plug-in has not become wet and that the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move.
The freshwater reservoir is empty or the sensor is impaired
No water in the reservoir or microbubbles in the water are causing issues with the sensor detecting the water level. Check that the sensor is not in an area where it is subject to small bubbles, eg near the outlet from a skimmer.
Corrective action: If this has occurred check that the sensor is clean, the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move, the freshwater reservoir is not empty, and there is nothing that could be causing the sump water level to fall unexpectedly.
Can it be mounted on suction cups and are there cut outs on the filter case to install these by?
No, the M Bioflow does not have any suction cups to hold the filter to the aquarium. There are no holes on the filter designed to hold such suction clips.
