FAQs
What do you need a gravel cleaner for?

A gravel cleaner is a tool that is used to clean the substrate (gravel or sand) in a fish tank. It is an important tool for maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the fish and other aquatic life living in the tank. Over time, the substrate in a fish tank can accumulate debris, such as uneaten food, feces, and excess plant matter, which can lead to poor water quality and contribute to the growth of harmful bacteria and algae. A gravel cleaner helps to remove this debris and improve the overall cleanliness of the tank.

There are several different types of gravel cleaners available. Some types are manual and require the user to manually siphon the debris out of the tank, while others are automatic and use a battery-powered pump to do the work for you.

To use a gravel cleaner, you typically start by filling the tank with clean water and then using the gravel cleaner to gently agitate the substrate. This helps to loosen and remove any debris that is trapped in the substrate. The debris is then collected in a receptacle or bag attached to the gravel cleaner and can be disposed of safely.

It's important to use a gravel cleaner regularly as part of your tank maintenance routine to ensure that the substrate is clean and the water quality in the tank is good. This can help to keep your fish and other aquatic life healthy and happy.
Can it be mounted on suction cups and are there cut outs on the filter case to install these by?

No, the M Bioflow does not have any suction cups to hold the filter to the aquarium. There are no holes on the filter designed to hold such suction clips.
