The water temperature in aquariums is of crucial importance for animals and plants and should therefore be monitored. Most tropical ornamental fish are most comfortable at temperatures between 24 and 26 ° C. But there are also fish which prefer lower temperatures. The discus is one of the fish that is happier in higher temperatures between 27 and 29 ° C.
With the help of heater thermostats (JBL ProTemp S) the water temperature can be increased and with coolers (JBL Cooler) it can be lowered.

FAQs
Why does my thermometer seem to be off by a degree or two?

Most mass-produced aquarium thermometers have an accuracy deviation of +/- 1-2 degrees. If the deviation range is higher, you may have a defective unit requiring replacement.

What a thermometer is used for on a fish tank?

A thermometer is a device that is used to measure the temperature of the water in a fish tank. It is an important tool for ensuring that the water temperature in the tank is within the appropriate range for the specific type of fish being kept. Different species of fish have different temperature requirements, so it's important to monitor the water temperature in the tank regularly and adjust the heater as needed to ensure that the temperature stays within the appropriate range.

There are several different types of thermometers that can be used in a fish tank. One common type is a stick-on thermometer, which is placed on the outside of the tank and has a temperature reading displayed on a dial or digital display. Another type is a floating thermometer, which is placed inside the tank and has a temperature reading displayed on a dial or digital display that is visible from the outside.

In addition to monitoring the water temperature in the tank, a thermometer can also be used to check the temperature of the water when performing water changes or when introducing new fish to the tank. This can help to ensure that the water temperature in the tank is similar to the water temperature of the new water or the new fish's previous environment, which can help to reduce stress on the fish and improve their overall health and well-being.
