Red Sea's KH/ALKALINITY is a complex of carbonate and other buffers present in seawater that maintain proper alkalinity and pH, and is part of Red Sea's complete Reef Care program.
Product Description
Calcium, magnesium, strontium and carbonate are the basic foundation elements of coral skeletons. All of these elements need to be available in balanced proportions for coral health and growth.Concentration:Liquid supplement: 1ml will raise the Alk level of 100 liters (25 gal) by 0.036 meq/l (0.1dKH)Powder supplement: 1g will raise the Alk level of 100 liters (25 gal) 0.12 meq/l (0.33dKH)1 kg will make 10L of stock solution.package size/volume:1 L (33.8 fl. Oz.)
The Red Sea ReefATO+ is an exceptionally reliable automatic top-off system which includes an accurate temperature monitor and external leak detector. It is designed to maintain a stable salinity and water volume in a reef aquarium by automatically replenishing the water lost due to evaporation.
Key features:
Fail-proof (solid-state) water level sensor with built-in safety shutoff
Quiet, 12 VDC variable flow (610w) ATO pump - 4.5cm diameter opening, max flow 300 lph, max head 2.5m
Magnetic sensor mounting bracket for up to 12mm glass with snap-in ATO+ sensor holder
3m silicone tubing with siphon-breaker and splash-free tube holder with lock-nuts
Titanium leak detector with an audible alarm
Online temperature sensor with a 0.1 precision
Detailed top-off and temperature logs
RO reservoir volume monitor
Integration with ReefBeats Feed/Maintenance/Emergency Quick Actions
The ReefATO+ has a solid-state water level sensor with titanium probes that pinpoint if the water is above, below, or at the desired level. It also comes with a microprocessor-controlled quiet pump that fits a 4.5cm/1.8 diameter opening and has multiple safety features, including auto-shutdown if the pump is running for too long or running dry. Each fill is completed within a precise 3mm band, keeping the water volume and salinity stable. In addition, the higher-level backup probes only react when the ATO pump is on, so routine water fluctuations will not trigger any false alarms. The ReefATO+ also comes with a smart controller which connects it to other products in the ReefBeat eco-system. Existing Red Sea Reefer aquarium owners can save on the cost by purchasing a dedicated ReefATO+ upgrade kit, which is a drop-in replacement for the standard gravity-fed float valve system.
The sensor on the DDATO has different light colours and patterns to warn of faults or show its status.
Flashing blue and red LED. The unit has been powered on and it is going through its startup process.
Flashing blue LED. A low water level has been detected and the top up unit is operating the pump to refill with fresh water.
Short intermitting blinking blue LED. The waterlevel is above the failsafe sensor and the unit has been temporarily deactivated. When the water level returns to below the emergncy sensor the unit will return to normal operation. The failsafe sensor can be activated after each top up on nano aquariums, this is normal and no action needs to be taken.
Solid Blue LED. The top up unit is in normal standby mode.
Flashing red LED. Alarm mode has been activated. The unit has detected an issue and or the freshwater reservoir is empty.
Why is my D+D ATO sensor light red
A red light on the sensor can indicate one of these things.
The sensor's inbuilt emergency shut-off timer has been activated
When the unit performs its first top-up after being powered on it will store the time taken in its memory. If for any reason the top-up unit is activated for longer than 6 times this the sensor will assume there is a problem or that the freshwater reservoir is empty, shut down and show the red warning light.
Corrective action to set the ATO back into normal operation mode and clear the alarm status, power the unit down from the mains plug socket for a few seconds and then power it back up. The sensor should flash red/blue a few times as it reinitialises and then returns to normal operation mode with a solid blue status light.
The sensor is detecting a fault with the ATO pump.
If the pump cannot run the sensor may go into alarm mode and turn off power to the pump. If this is the situation you will notice that when the top-up activates the pump will not turn on and the status light will immediately show red and not flash blue until time out occurs.
Corrective action:_Disconnect the unit from mains power, check that the connector where the power lead and pump plug-in has not become wet and that the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move.
The freshwater reservoir is empty or the sensor is impaired
No water in the reservoir or microbubbles in the water are causing issues with the sensor detecting the water level. Check that the sensor is not in an area where it is subject to small bubbles, eg near the outlet from a skimmer.
Corrective action: If this has occurred check that the sensor is clean, the impellor in the pump is clean and free to move, the freshwater reservoir is not empty, and there is nothing that could be causing the sump water level to fall unexpectedly.
Can it be mounted on suction cups and are there cut outs on the filter case to install these by?
No, the M Bioflow does not have any suction cups to hold the filter to the aquarium. There are no holes on the filter designed to hold such suction clips.
